Frédéric Sofia is a Paris-based French designer (born in Lyon, 1967) known for reinterpreting everyday outdoor icons with a crisp, industrial elegance. Commissioned by Fermob in 2004, he modernised the legendary Luxembourg chair into a lightweight aluminium range with ergonomic curved slats—blending architectural linework, comfort-led detailing, and colour-forward French spirit. The original pieces designed in 1923 were utilised in the Jardin du Luxembourg, pathing the way for this Paris furniture icon.

The Luxembourg outdoor furniture range is a complete collection of indoor and outdoor furniture—there’s truly something for everyone. Build your setting from dining and lounge pieces, benches and low tables, plus clever extras like drinks trollies. There are even kid-friendly Luxembourg exclusives, so the whole family can mix & match in colour and style.

Aluminium is an outdoor essential. It's lightweight- easy to move, naturally rust-resistant, and tough enough for commercial hospitality spaces. Unlike timber it won't warp and will keep its slim shape. Being available in Fermob's extensive range of 26 powder-coat colours including the newest addition, Latte Beige - handle heat and UV with ease.
