The Madame Exterior Chair was designed by renowned Nanna Ditzel and her husband, Jorgen Ditzel in 1951. Their experimental approach to materials resulted in the shape of a shell. Its soft and feminine shapes gave rise to the name, 'Madame.'
Wonderful on terraces and verandahs and perfect for elegant outdoor areas in hotels and restaurants, watch people quickly gravitate towards the Madame Exterior Chair.
The chair is part of Sika-Design's ICONS collection, which consists exclusively of furniture designed by renowned designers. The Madame Chair has been available for indoor use for many years and is now also available as a weather-resistant outdoor chair.
It is constructed from Alu-rattan, a weatherproof powder coated aluminium and handwoven with Sika-Design ArtFibre?, which is an extremely durable and weather-resistant material made of polyethylene.
The Madame Exterior Chair can withstand heavy rain, very cold conditions and the sun's UV radiation and therefore be left outdoor all year round without compromising the design or quality. The combination of ArtFibre? and aluminium gives the chair a remarkable strength and comfort.
