Maintenance: Care & Maintenance Two annual treatments keep your teak furniture looking its best. Ordinary Maintenance, for new or indoor pieces. Wash with neutral soap, dry completely in sunlight, then apply teak oil with a soft cotton cloth. Avoid brushes, which can trap patina and restrict the wood's natural breathing. Deep Maintenance, for outdoor furniture with silver patina. Gently sand with fine-grit paper to restore the original honey tone, rinse with neutral soap and water, and dry fully in sun. Apply teak oil with a medium brush and allow to dry again. If the surface feels porous after treatment, wipe with a damp cloth. New Furniture Tip: Wipe with a slightly damp cloth before adding cushions to remove natural oils and prevent staining.
