The Madame Chair was designed by renowned Nanna Ditzel and her husband, Jorgen Ditzel in 1951. Their experimental approach to materials resulted in the shape of a shell. Its soft and feminine shapes gave rise to the name, 'Madame.'
This elegant and comfortable chair is part of Sika-Design's ICONS collection, which consists exclusively of furniture designed by renowned designers.
The Madame Lounge Chair is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality.
Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo, which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material and therefore you get a unique piece of furniture that can last for generations.
